Long ago, farmers wanted to know whose tractor was the strongest. They would hook their tractors to heavy loads and see who could pull the farthest. This became a contest called a tractor pull. Today, tractor pulls are a sport where specially built tractors pull a heavy sled down a track. The sled gets heavier as it moves! The tractor that pulls the sled the farthest wins. Some tractors have engines as powerful as race cars. The loudest tractors have multiple engines and can have over 5,000 horsepower — that's like having 50 regular cars in one machine!

There is no week to lay out, no rotation to keep straight and no boxes to stay ahead of. You decide in the morning, from whatever they are actually asking about.

How it teaches

Curiosity is the hook. Rigour is the point.

A dive is not an activity pack. It is built on a classical spine, and it is written to be harder than your child expects and exactly as hard as they can manage.

Taught from a classical foundation

Grammar, then logic, then rhetoric — the Trivium, applied to whatever they asked about. Vocabulary before the passage, the passage before the questions. A child is never tested on something they were not taught first.

Pitched by evidence, not by birthday

Every child carries a per-subject level that moves as they work. A strong reader who is behind in maths gets a hard passage and gentler numbers on the same morning.

Critical thinking over compliance

Primary sources where they exist, more than one account of the same event, and questions with an argument in them. We would rather they disagreed with us well than agreed with us quietly.

Something to show for it

Every sheet is dated and named, with an answer key for the parent. What comes off the printer is what goes in the folder at the end of the year.
